A Premier League Commission has recommended that an immediate six-point deduction be applied to Leicester City FC in the Championship for a breach of the EFL’s 2023/24 Profitability and Sustainability Rules.
The issues decided by the Commission included: (i) the applicable loss threshold, (ii) the period over which the Club would be assessed, (iii) the correct approach to sanction, including the Commission’s powers, and (iv) arguments of competition law.
The decision can be found here, with a summary here.
