Zafar Ansari was one of four Commissioners appointed to the Independent Commission for Equity in Cricket (ICEC). The ICEC was set up by the England and Wales Cricket Board to examine issues concerning inequality and discrimination in the sport.
The Commission was chaired by Cindy Butts, a Member of the House of Commons Speaker’s Committee for Independent Parliamentary Standards and of the House of Lords Conduct Committee. In addition to Zafar, the other Commissioners were Sir Brendan Barber, former General Secretary of the TUC, Dr Michael Collins, an associate professor of modern British history at UCL, and Michelle Moore, a leadership coach, author, educator and international speaker with extensive experience leading initiatives at the intersection of sport and social change.
