EFL v Sheffield United FC

Adam Lewis KC and Ruth Kennedy, 11KBW represented the EFL, and Nick De Marco KC and Celia Rooney represented Sheffield United Football Club in proceedings relating to the Club’s admitted breaches of EFL Regulations concerning late payments to other clubs during the 2022/23 football season. By an Agreed Decision, the parties agreed that the Club would be subject to a deduction of 2 points at the start of the next season if the Club is in the EFL’s jurisdiction, with a further 2 points suspended until the end of that same season upon any further breach by the Club.
